Botany Aces, a volleyball club, was started 6 years ago by a group of high school graduates who enjoy playing volleyball. In the last six years, the club has been consistently training and improving. This year, players are planning to participate in interclub competitions within Auckland and are considering taking the next step to participate in national competitions.
You have been asked by the club to give advice on their decision to support the team members with treadmills in the club space as they continue to train for their competitions. The treadmills must have basic safety features such an emergency stopping and handlebars. The club plans to add 6 of the same treadmills to the club’s training space as there are currently 11 members.
In the past 6 years, the pūtake of the club included an emphasis on the physical wellbeing of the members, manaakitanga and whanaungatanga, while maintaining financial viability.
A very generous donation of $10,000 has been given by the family of a club member to assist with the payment. Any additional funds required to purchase the treadmills will need to be secured by the club if needed.
You are required to investigate their financial decision-making by exploring treadmill options to best meet the needs of the club. You should discuss connections between the pūtake of the club and their decision-making.
